Guests are the heart and soul of a wedding, infusing your special day with excitement and infectious energy. While great food, beautiful venues, and drinks add to the celebration, your most cherished memories will come from spending time with guests who surround you with love, laughter, and support. As a Toronto-based candid wedding photographer, I know that a lively wedding leads to raw, authentic photos you'll treasure forever.

Wedding guests can be major stress relievers. Having someone who can stay calm, give us advice, and remind us of what’s important is so helpful. Some of the best moments happen when guests are able to coax a bride and groom out of their own heads so that they can have fun and truly let loose. I try to be a “fly on the wall” when I’m taking photos, so when everyone can get swept up in the day and forget I’m there, I get to capture genuine smiles, tears, and snuggles in a single frame .


In a recent wedding guest trend, many couples have been opting for more intimate wedding gatherings, paying special attention to guest list management in order to spend more time with each of their guests rather than moving through all of the guest seating arrangements, in an attempt to talk to everyone. Of course, it depends on the family. The same goes for the common question of whether to have children at weddings or have an adults-only wedding. Some tight-knit families want everyone to be there and might even give kids their own roles in the ceremony. Other groups want the freedom to party and drink without needing to worry about younger guests. In the end, you don’t need to invite everyone to both the ceremony and the reception.


On a day about laughter, tears, and moments that hit you in the feels, all couples deserve a wedding guest experience that they will never forget.
